Neuropsychological Evaluations
Neuropsychological evaluations provide information about a person's cognitive strengths and weaknesses. Common reasons to request a neuropsychological evaluation include:
-Diagnostic clarification -Quantification of cognitive impairment -Etiology of cognitive problems -Fitness for duty (e.g. FAA or other safety-sensitive profession) -Injury-related litigation -To recommend a course of treatment -To guide educational or vocational planning
Commonly evaluated populations include: -Traumatic brain injury -Alzheimer's and other dementias -Other neurological conditions (e.g. stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, etc.) -FAA airmen and other professionals in safety-sensitive occupations -Learning disorders and ADHD
FAA Evaluations
Dr. Asgarian regularly performs neuropsycholgical evaluations and CogScreen-AE exams for pilots seeking to obtain or re-obtain their medical certificate. Dr. Asgarian is HIMS-certified and is very familiar with all of the requirements mandated by the FAA.
